Cwmdeithas Cwmdu Meeting : 1st December 2011 Members present : 15 Present: Philip, Judy, Chris, Colin, Goronwy, Alan, Bella, Kate, Clare, Rick, Pat, Janet, Celia, John, Nikki. Apologies: David R. Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting. * Thank you to Janet for decorating the pub again this year. * Home Education Group not meeting at Present. * Thank you to Trilikesh, Margaret, Huw And Tanya for an excellent Indian meal in the restaurant on 26th. * National Trust are to continue letting out the two holiday cottages for the coming year. Tafarn Cwmdu Ltd report. Thank yoy to all who signed the petition and sent letters or emails to ask for the retention of Post Office services in Cwmdu. The Post Office have agreed to keep the post office open and Pat has started training with David Croome from Brechfa who is helping out 2 days a week. Pat's contribution is very much appreciated as is the help from all the volunteers. Extra help is always welcome, see Pat to arrange how and when. Next Company meeting will be on Tues. 13th Dec. Events and Activity Planning. Fri 2nd Dec - Folk night. Sat 10th Dec - Llandeilo Hunt. 10.00am. Volunteer bartender needed from 10.00am. Sat 10th Dec - French Cuisine at the Cwmdu Inn. Steve and Stacey. book as usual in shop or bar. Sun 11th Dec - Cwmdu Craft Fair 11.00am til 4.00pm. Variety of stalls, teas and refreshments. Fri 16th Dec - Christmas dinner. Pat cooking. Sun 18th Dec - Chapel goers lunch. Wed 21st Dec - Pauline George is organising carol singing in the villages and will finish at the Tafarn. Fri 23rd Dec -Carol singing around the tree in the village 6.00pm followed by mince pies and mulled wine in the pub. Sat 24th Dec - Christmas Eve. Normal pub opening times. Sun 25th Dec - Christmas Day. David will open 11.00am to 1.00pm. Sat 31st Dec - New Years Eve. Alan is setting up a Treasure Hunt in the village. t.00pm start. American Supper - bring a plate of food to share. Raffle. Sat 14th Jan 2012 - Practical Pruning Day with Paul "Orchard Maintenance" 11.00am to 3.00pm. £7.50 per head, £12 per couple, add £1 for cawl and bread. Thurs 1st March 2012 - St David's Day celebration in the vestry. Sun 4th March 2012 - Bynea and Llanelli Cycle Club run. They would like to stop on the way through for cawl. A.O.B. * Proposal for a gift for David from Brechfa for his help with the Post Office. * Digital group (Kate, Alan Celia) will discuss the new website. * Celia is now in charge of the 49 club. Goronwy will let Celia know the Christmas Eve bonus ball number. Next meeting Thursday 5th January 2012 Meeting closed at 9.15pm. |
