Supper Supporting Ceridigion Lifeboat Campaign
Supper 6:30pm Bar open from 7:00pm
On Thursday 16th May, a supper will be served in the Cwmdu Restaurant to raise awareness and funds for the Ceridigion Lifeboat Campaign. The all weather lifeboat will be withdrawn from Newquay if funds cannot be raised to save it. This would mean that in a storm, it would take 90 minutes instead of 10 to get a lifeboat to anyone in difficulty as the nearest all weather lifeboats are so far away. For more information see http://ceredigionlifeboatcampaign.org.uk/ or facebook Many people in this area go to Aberaeron, Newquay, Llangrannog regularly to the beach, sailing, swimming, rowing which is currently covered by the all weather lifeboat. Sarah, from Cwmdu, and the all Welsh women team, Aberporth’s Hell’s Belles, completed the Celtic Challenge, the worlds longest rowing race from Ireland to Wales, in just over 20 hours last weekend. She will be talking about her experience and the need for the all weather lifeboat on Thursday. Home – The Celtic Challenge Baked potatoes with a variety of fillings and a pudding for a recommended donation of £5 with a talk by Sarah and good company by the open fire from 6.30pm Let us know if you can come, or just turn up for a very warm welcome. Thank you for your support.
