Mae Cwmdu’n lle braf i ymwelwyr. Mae ymwelwyr heb ddarganfod y rhan fwyaf o gefn gwlad hyfryd Sir Gâr eto, felly peth prin yw ciw, ac anaml y byddwch yn cystadlu â thyrfa wrth edmygu’r olygfa. Ar gyfer eich sat. nav. ein cod post yw SA19 7DU. Y mae bythynnod gwyliau ar gael yn y pentref a’r cyffiniau, gyda llwybrau yn troelli o gwmpas y cwm. Am ddiwrnod allan, beth am ymweld ag eiddo’r Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol yn Ninefwr a Dolaucothi, neu ag Aberglasne a Gardd Fotaneg Cymru; ac mae milltiroedd o lwybrau beicio rhagorol yn Fforest Brechfa. Os am adael y car yn y maes parcio, mae gwasanaeth bws ar gael i Landeilo neu i Gaerfyrddin i bori trwy’r dewis gwych o siopau sydd i’w cael yno. Y mae gorsafoedd trên ar Linell Calon Cymru yn Llandeilo, Llangadog a Llanymddyfri, fel y gallwch fynd i lawr i Abertawe neu i fyny i’r Amwythig, gan fwynhau’r golygfeydd hardd ar y daith.

    Dear all of you!
We are thinking of you very often and our very nice stay in Cwmdu. For us it´s the heart of wales 🙂 – really, it was such a special stay for us in your village and especially at your pub.
We hope, that we can come back again in some time – and if somebody of you comes to salzburg or austria – everybody of you is very welcome anytime – just let us know!
We wish you merry christmas and a happy new year – best regards to everybody – big hugs from all of us –

Cheers Linda, Peter, Matthias, Linda, Fritz, Michi, Alex

We are thinking of booking a cottage for a week in July with 2 dogs, the Cwmdu inn is in walking distance… my question, is the pub dog friendly? Thanks!

    • mark says:

Yes – with a but…..if food is being served in the public bar on a Saturday night (and this is only when it’s really busy) we ask that dogs are not brought into the bar then as it’s so small.

There are several good walking routes from Cwmdu ranging from a gentle 1 mile walk around the village to 5-6 miles walks in the surrounding hills and beyond. There are several well signposted footpaths around the village and the valley and details of some of the walks can be had from the shop.

Are there busses leaving from Cwmdu regularly for different places? We are 3 visitors coming without a car. Also where is the closest train station? We are flying in from Cardif or Bristol in June.

Trains – Llandeilo is the nearest train station – 6 miles away. Get the train from Cardiff to Swansea then change to the Heart of Wales line for trains to Llandeilo – 3/4 a day.

      Buses –

Wednesday – Cwmdu to Carmarthen (via Llandeilo) and back – once a day.

Friday – Cwmdu to Ammanford, via Llandeilo and back again – once a day

Saturday – Cwmdu to Carmarthen (via Llandeilo) and back again – once a day
